Sixers game/ Greg

While attending the Philadelphia 76ers game this Friday for our sports media relations class, we had to opportunity to speak with Tom McGinnis who is the play-by-play radio announcer for the team. Tom met with our class about 45 minutes prior to the game and discussed what it was like to be in his shoes and what his profession consists of. Tom used his past as an athlete and said that his experience on the field had helped him in broadcasting. He related minor league baseball and making it to the major leagues in a sense that someone who masters the levels of minor league baseball will in a sense have a better shot at making it in the pros. Tom mentioned that he follows a lot of sports, not just basketball and insists that one can only get better from experience. Tom concluded by wishing all of us the best of luck in school and in the sports world.
