mickey vernon/ Joe

On January 16, 2010 the sports media relations class at Wilmington University had the great opportunity to visit one of the most proud sports museums in Pennsylvania The Mickey Vernon Sports Museum. This museum is located in Delaware County PA right along route 202. Jim VanKoskiewho is the director of the museum greeted the class at the door and took them on a tour they will not soon forget. The Museum main focus is around two of Delaware County legends Paul Arzin and Mickey Vernon. Both, of which made big strides in the sports that they played Arzin was part of the NBA and Vernon to MLB. Jim was a close friend of the late Mickey Vernon. From the outside of the building you would never guess that the three level building could hold so much history from baseball, basketball, football and even medals from the Olympics. Before they left the class got to see a video that Mickey Vernon shot of what the game was like when we play the game.
